Michael Harvey, Pastor
Pastor Mike Harvey came to Woodside Village Church from San Mateo where he served 11 years as Lead Pastor for Hope Lutheran Church. Pastor Mike joined our staff in 2007 as Senior Pastor. He is a native of the Bay Area, growing up in San Mateo and Burlingame. He currently lives in Burlingame with his wife, Karlene. They were married in 1969 and have two children; a son, Eric and a daughter, Julie.
Before going back to school, Pastor Mike served as a manager of West Coast Federal Savings in the Castro Valley branch. While going to school he worked for the City of Burlingame supervising the maintenance of City Hall. His wife Karlene works in the City of Burlingame's Parks and Trees Division.
Pastor Mike attended the College of San Mateo, University of Phoenix, and Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary and was ordained for pastoral ministry in 1991. He is currently doing postgraduate studies in counseling.
Pastor Mike has a genuine love for the Lord and believes that through the power of the Holy Spirit we have all been called to bring the "Good News" of God's healing love to a broken world.

Reverend Dorothy Straks
Director of Music Ministries
650-530-2161
Dorothy was born and raised as a Midwest farm girl who often dreamed of someday living in the big city
When choosing a career path for college Dorothy looked to the education track and taught public school for many years. She attended Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa for two years and then transferred to Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, Missouri to complete her bachelor's degree in education.
Once she realized that God was calling her to the ordained ministry she began a six-year journey to complete her Master of Arts in Theology and Worship Arts at United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul). She was ordained by Bishop Mel Talbert here in California in 1997 and is a member of the California-Nevada Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
She and Jerry have two grown children. She enjoys hiking, biking, camping, reading, gardening, sewing, and corresponding with the many friends she's made across the country.

Anne Buelteman
Secretary
Anne Buelteman is, by profession, an actor, a singer, and a writer. So of course it makes perfect sense that she is working part-time as secretary and understudy to office manager Linda Patrick. In fact, her parents, Robert and Betty Buelteman settled in Woodside in 1955 and were part of the group of some dozen members who first made the overture to the Northern California and Nevada conference of the United Church of Christ about getting a full-time pastor for the Woodside Village Church, which at the time had two buildings, the Chapel, and the Guild Hall. So she has been a member here (not counting several prolonged absences) for a very long time. This means two things-she is quite old, and she can be quite a know-it-all, but she wages a constant battle against both conditions.
