Planning a Wedding?

Woodside Village Church offers weddings to those who are church members and to those who are members of the wider community.

We welcome you to consider using our facilities for your wedding. Nestled in the center of the small town of Woodside (with access to highways 280, 101, and 84), the Woodside Village Church is a congregational community church affiliated with the United Church of Christ. It offers two service sites: the historic Chapel built in 1893 and a majestic Sanctuary. The Courtyard and Guild Hall are available for both inside and outside receptions.

Guild Hall is available for receptions. It has a fully equipped kitchen, coat room, gas fireplace, and round and rectangular tables and chairs. A courtyard is also available for outside receptions. Due to our legal status, beer and wine are the only alcohol that can be served at receptions.

If you wish to use the services of the church staff, Pastor Mike Harvey, an ordained Lutheran minister, can officiate the ceremony, and Music Director Mark Adams is our “tenor magnifique.”

For more information, contact Linda Patrick, the church wedding coordinator at lindap@wvchurch.org. or you can call Linda at (650) 851-1587

The Chapel is light and airy, with walls of windows and wooden pews more than 100 years old. The altar area has an organ, piano, and two pulpits. It is a step back in time to enter its doors and enjoy the peace that it may bring to you. There is a real church bell in its steeple; the pull rope is hanging behind the last pew available for an enthusiastic ring-bearer or flower girl to ring at the commencement or conclusion of the ceremony. For comfort, it is suggested that 80 attendees are the maximum at a wedding. (see picture below center )

The Sanctuary presents a more formal opportunity with beautiful stained glass windows on both side walls. Seating up to 350 people, the Sanctuary also has a large choir loft with a M.P. Möller pipe organ. A hand-held microphone and lapel microphones are available for participants.
Music for your ceremony is included in your fee and provided by our organist/ pianist. Additional vocal or instrumental soloists may be engaged at additional cost. The Church does not allow guest organists. If you need suggestions regarding soloists, our organist has a list of excellent musicians for you to contact. Once your date has been confirmed, contact the organist to arrange for either a tape or personal overview of music selections.(see picture below right)

Both churches are always open and you are most welcome to stop in.
